I had been struggling for a grip on my sobriety for years, chronic relapses, detox, rehab, then hitting the outside world on my own with suboxone to help... This was my life, a vicious cycle, a hellashis Groundhog Day if you will... Over and over I tried the same thing expecting a different result, and not comprehending why i always fell on my face with each relapse. My last stint and in a detox was in Georgetown Massachusetts in 2014 at a place called baldpate Hospital. It was there that I met the doctor that changed my thinking. His name was dr. Soofi. He was like every other doctor I had met at the miriad of inpatient recovery places i had been a patient of. Until the day I went to leave. And he told me that yes he indeed does of a have suboxone program at a different location, and I yes indeed could go to it and he would take my money. but he ALSO looked me square in the face and said, I feel the need to tell you Kristie this is a repeating pattern and you're going to fail again. Instead he recommended that I go to his methadone clinic in Manchester New Hampshire. which is New Seasons, however back then in 2014 it was Manchester Metro Treatment Center. So here is where I stepped different, I took his advice even though I was so afraid of getting on methadone for all the awful things that Ihad heard on my walk through life, and here I am today. I have not touched heroin in 4 years. I am grateful for the people at Manchester Metro Treatment Center I'm grateful mostly for Doctor Sufi who is no longer with Manchester Metro Treatment Center , my journey these four years has not been perfect, it has not been easy, but it has been different and it has been better than what my life was before. The fact that I have not touched heroin in 4 f****** years and to me and those in my family , that fact alone is a miracle and something to be grateful for, and I am everyday! thank you to Manchester Metro Treatment Center thank you to Lindsay Holmes. She has been my counselor since the day i walked through the door 4 years ago. She stuck it out with me through it all, and never gave up on me. thank you to dr. Sufi who got me in as a patient the very next day that ibwas released from Baldpate Hospital. Its not a perfect life, but life's not perfect for anyone, and slowly I'm learning to accept Life On Life's terms. I thank you all. Patient 2671
With all programs come rules. When you finnd it hard to follow the rules think of all those times your dealer would have you waiting in a car sometimes worse for hours on end and never really knowing if you would get help by the end of the night, All program rules are pretty much the same. Be respectful of the process and it will try and help you. keep plugging a long doing the right thing and everything will get better.
Been sober for a long time because of this place
Way better than habit Opco in Manchester. Been sober for over 8 years with methadone, meetings & counselors...it works. 😊
